For those wanting to extend their throwing practice.

Your tutors Jenny and Cat, will further what you have learnt in the beginners classes, and reinforce the skills and techniques needed for successful throwing, trimming and firing your work.

You will be taught about the different firings, as well as how to glaze your pot properly.

Jenny specialises in domestic ware, working mostly in high-fired reduction stoneware. She uses traditional glazes which she modifies to create movement and colour.

“I love both the meditative feeling of throwing familiar shapes and exploring new forms, the adventure of testing new glazes and the unpredictable nature of the whole ceramic process.”

Students must:

  • Be 18+

  • Bring their own clay tools (some are available for purchase in the office)

  • Purchase their own clay (available at ASP)

  • Firing and glazes at student cost

  • Provide own dust mask and gloves for glazing

  • Please note:

  • ASP is only able to fire the clay brands/types that ASP stock

  • Clean up and set up times are within the 3 hours allocated for class time - any pre or post studio time must be signed in and paid for at the office.
