Have you wanted to be part of a wood-firing in our Duncan Kiln?

This workshop is for members who have not been able to get into a wood firing group or who have very limited firing experience and who are keen to learn all about the wood firing process from start to finish.

The 10 weeks will comprise of making, glazing and wadding your work, culminating in a weekend firing.

Chris and Mike will introduce you to the process with a tour of the kiln, showing you what clay to use, what forms work well in a woodfiring, and all the nuances of this atmospheric firing.

Students must be available for the weekend of the loading and firing (13 & 14th Dec), and also available for unloading and clean up on the 16th or 17th of December (date TBC), and must also be prepared to collect untreated wood throughout the term. No exceptions.

Clean up times are within the hours allocated for class time
If a workshop is unable to go ahead on the planned date we will reschedule these events to a later date. Refunds will only be possible if no suitable alternative date can be found
