In this workshop you will discover different ways to give the surface of your ceramic works a personal touch by working with your own designed textures.
With a press mould you can easily duplicate forms and shapes. Roos will give you a lot of ‘playful’ ideas to make textures on clay with handmade tools. At the end of the day you will have your own designed press-mould (tile or other shape) in plaster, depending on how much time is left, you can make some tools as well.
With the results you can make textures that can be applied on wheel-thrown or hand-built ceramic works.
Roos Langendorff is an artist from the Netherlands. After studying theatre design at the Rietveld Academy (School of Arts in Amsterdam) she discovered, years later, the joy of working with clay and the endless possibilities of this versatile material. In 2017 she graduated from The Dutch school of Ceramic techniques in Gouda.
